What is Diploma Supplement?
The Diploma Supplement is an official document issued alongside a higher education diploma.
It is designed to make your qualification easier to understand — especially abroad — by providing clear, standardized information about your degree.
Key points:
- Purpose: Helps employers, universities, and other institutions understand the content, level, and status of your qualification.
- Issued by: The university where you graduate.
- Language: Usually in both the national language and English.
- Contents:
- Information about the holder of the degree (your name, ID, etc.)
- Details of the qualification (title, level, field of study)
- Information on the program (courses taken, grades, credits)
- The grading system used
- The status of the institution and the qualification in the national system
It was developed by the European Commission, Council of Europe, and UNESCO/CEPES to promote transparency and make degrees more comparable across countries.
DİPLOMA EKİ NEDİR?
Diploma Eki, Yükseköğretim Kurumları tarafından diplomanın yanı sıra verilen tamamlayıcı bir belgedir. Diploma ekinde alınan derece ile ilgili bilgiler, derecenin düzeyi, içeriği ve kullanım alanları, ilave olarak, ulusal eğitim sistemi ve üniversitenin eğitim ve değerlendirme sistemi gibi bilgilere yer verilir.
Diploma ekinin bilgi formatı, Avrupa Komisyonu, Avrupa Konseyi ve UNESCO/CEPES tarafından gerçekleştirilmiştir.
Diploma Eki Uluslararası şeffaflık ve akademik/mesleksel tanınırlık sağlamada önemli bir araçtır. Ancak tek başına tanınırlığı temin etmez.
Diploma Eki, mezuniyeti takiben her öğrenciye ücretsiz olarak verilir. Türkçe eğitim yapmakta olan yükseköğretim kurumlarında Diploma Eki dili İngilizce’dir.
Yükseköğretim Kurumları, diploma Ekinin amaç ve içeriğini kendi öğrencilerine, yerel kurumlara, işverenlere ve diğer ilgililere yaygın bir şekilde duyurmakla yükümlüdür.
